Angela has owned a dog for as long as she can remember.  She first started to work with other people and their dogs in her early teens, when she handled Shetland Sheepdogs in the show ring for a friend of her grandmothers.  It was at this time that she got her first taste of obedience, visiting an Obedience Club in Sheffield.  Over the years Angela has been a member of three different clubs, training her own dogs and helping friends and family with their dogs.

Angela joined K9 Academy Obedience class about 6 years ago She has also worked on and gained experience in teaching people to train their dogs in obedience and is now an Instructor at K9 Academy Obedience Club, which concentrates on pet obedience.

Angela offers one to one sessions with people who need help with pet obedience.  She also enjoys working on a one to one basis with new and experienced dog owners, with dogs of any age, whether there are existing problems or whether the dog owner just wants to get it right from the start.  She will visit clients in their own home, but will also encourage training sessions ‘out and about’, so that she is training in ‘real life’ situations and the dog is encountering all the distractions of everyday life.

Angela uses motivational, reward based methods in her training, but also believes that a happy dog is one who has boundaries and is taught that some behaviour is unacceptable.

Angela has many years experience in dog ownership and a good sound knowledge of the dog, but believes there is always something new to learn in the dog world and intends to continue her own education with the Guild of Dog Trainers.

Angela has had many happy years as a dog owner and cannot imagine life without dogs.  She is happy to share her knowledge and experience with others to enable them to have the same relationship with their pet dogs.
