Ross McCarthy
Master Dog Trainer
A background of training and instructing at various German Shepherd Dog Training clubs teaching competitive obedience up to test 'A' and agility for working display teams, Ross now concentrates on Pet Obedience or 'Street Training' for real life with all breeds.
Ross works full-time as a canine behaviour practitioner and so
by default of his profession works primarily with behavioural case
dogs referred by Veterinary Practices. Ross runs critical behaviour
classes for dogs displaying aggression to people or other dogs,
Puppy Classes and adult dog classes. He offers the Kennel Club Good
Citizen Award Classes up to Gold. Ross believes that training in
'real-life' situations gives you the best result and prefers one-to-one
training with dogs in London's busy parks with all of the natural
distractions that provides.
Ross is currently training his young Rottweiler in the Working
Trials disciplines.
Ross holds a Masters Degree in Canine Behaviour & Psychology and is a member of the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers and the Canine & Feline Behaviour Association. He is a tutor and lecturer with the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour & Training. He is also a feature writer for Dogs Monthly Magazine.
Ross is also a founder of the Dog Safety Education Executive.
