Elaine
Brown
Editor of The Guild of Dog Trainers’ newsletter
Elaine Brown runs “Dog Learning Zone”,
a professional dog training, behaviour and therapeutic care centre
in Norfolk.
The foundation of Elaine’s work is puppy and adult companion
dog training, agility training and behaviour improvement. But increasingly
Elaine’s interest is moving to exploring more alternative
methods to modify behaviour. Recently she has teamed up with a colleague
to offer services in Tellington Touch and Galen Myotherapy (canine
massage).
Elaine has successfully completed Instructor courses in puppy and
dog training with the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training.
As a strong advocate of life-long learning she is continuing her
studies and research into advanced canine behaviour and related
issues.
As well as running the very busy training centre, Elaine gets involved
with canine charities. She holds events to raise funds for Dogs
for the Disabled, helps to train puppy and adult German Shepherds
for Pathfinder Guide Dogs and is shortly to become involved with
Dog Aid, a charity that helps disabled handlers train their own
dog to become an assistance dog.
The ethos of Elaine’s work is to contribute to the continuing
education of dog owners. The training centre holds regular canine
related activities to help build a local community that shares ideas,
experiences and makes new friends based around their love of dogs.
