Tasker
Mark has been training dogs for over 22 years. He is a Qualified
Home Office Instructor and is presently a Force dog trainer for
the Hertfordshire Constabulary, where he has worked on the dog section
for 18 years.
He has worked successfully a number of general purpose police dogs,
as well as Drug detection and Explosive detection dogs for which
he holds an NVQ.
He is the force trainer for Tactical Firearms support and public
order dogs and is currently re-writing the Initial firearms support
dog course to enable police dogs to work safely and expertly with
the police firearms team in all aspects of their operational deployment.
He is a dog assessor and puppy walker for the force, bringing up
gift dogs and training them to the standard where they are ready
to complete the Initial Police Dog course in order to make them
qualified police dogs.
He also runs the Dog Academy his own successful dog training school
where he specialises in problem dogs referred to him by local vets
and animal rescue organisations, using his knowledge base and varied
training methods to rehabilitate these dogs back into normal pet
life.
