Jackie was involved in dog activities including Gundog trials, scurries, showing, rally, and agility, but her main love is training dogs
Jackie had a 33 year career as a Deputy Head teacher in schools. She has been involved with dogs over 50 years, the last ten in training.
She was involved in dog activities including Gundog trials, scurries, showing, rally, and agility, but her main love is training dogs, often termed by owners as un-trainable or problems, into dogs they are proud to own. Dogs like children need teaching what to do and how to do it.
Jackie worked years with more experienced trainers, this was invaluable experience. These people were highly qualified, Guide dog senior trainers, and graduates of institutes. They came from differing approaches, allowing me to vary my practice and tailor training to suit differing dog and human personalities. Two of these people mentored and coached her to become a dog trainer (one trained Guide dog trainers, only the best!). Alongside this practical “hands on training”, she did many dog training courses, focusing on all aspects of training, such as puppy, behaviour, rescue etc. She’s currently doing an MA in Canine Behaviour and Psychology.
She also trains rescue dogs at the local shelter to help them get re-homed. Jackie has been trained by some of the world’s most famous trainers.
At Class K9, She concentrates on companion dog training and general obedience. The classes are: Puppy, Adult dogs (early training), and Advanced dogs. Classes are club based, but she will do one-to-one training. If problems need work outside the club, arrangements are on an individual basis. She believes in supporting clients as much as possible.
Jackie believes in showing the handler how to train their dog, giving them the skills to practice away from the club, and with other dogs at home.
The club is in Little Lever Working Men’s club, Victory Road, Little Lever, Bolton, BL3 1HZ
