Tracey has owned and trained her own rescue dogs for 17 years. She increasingly became interested in learning more about how dogs learn and how they communicate with us and completed a range of Training and Behaviour courses with the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training. She now holds the National Dog Training Instructors Certificate. She also has a keen interest in clicker training and has achieved her Clicker training CAP1 assessment with a Distinction.
She is passionate about showing owners how to connect with their dogs and understand how just a few minutes training a few times each day with a dog can create a fabulous bond and a more attentive dog. As well as working as a trainer and instructor, Tracey also works as a dog walker for a local firm in Abergavenny.
Tracey offers one to one obedience training sessions in clients homes as well as town work, walking in the countryside safely, as well as holding good manners training classes locally in Abergavenny. This covers, loose lead walking, sit, down, stay, recall, wait, leave it. She is also qualified to advise on issues like separation anxiety, excessive barking and other behavioural problems She also volunteers at another dog training class that offers the Kennel Club Good Citizen Award. Tracey enjoys doing fun agility and clicker training with her own dogs and will be embarking on a new project with one of dogs, heel work to music!
As well as a qualified dog trainer and instructor, Tracey is also a Pet Bereavement Support Counsellor helping owners with the difficult times that arise with the loss of a beloved companion animal.
