Robert owns Drumagore Dog Training & Behaviour, offering Puppy to Advanced Training as well as Behaviour Consultations and Gundog training.
Robert has been training for over 30 years starting with the family pet dogs. He then joined a local gundog club where he gained a lot of hands on experience in training dogs. He always says that is where he served his apprenticeship as a dog trainer.
Robert served the club in most capacities during his 20 years with them, Secretary, Chairman, Companion dog trainer and Gundog trainer and continued to learn and study as positive training became more mainstream.
Robert continues to study and keep up to date with the newest and relevant methods of force free dog training and behavioural work. This includes attending seminars and conferences.
He spent time as Head Trainer within a charity, training Assistance dogs for children with autism and wheelchair users. He found this a fantastically rewarding time in his training life, he helped them in their bid to get Lotto funding.
Behaviour work happened organically as people reached out to him for help with their dogs’ issues and Drumagore Dog Training and Behaviour was born in 2014. Behaviour work is a major part of Roberts work load. He gets a lot of referrals from local vets, dog wardens, rescue centres and other trainers.
Robert runs classes under the Kennel Club Good Citizen Award Scheme covering Foundation, Bronze, Silver and Gold all done with positive force free training and a smile on the dog and owners faces.
Robert holds his own tailored puppy socialisations classes which cover all aspects of owning a new puppy.
Robert works closely with all the local rehoming centres giving advice and hosting some of their fundays.
Gundog classes and private training/trouble shooting are also available and catered for onsite on our facilities.
All training is reward based and force free.
