Working on a 1-2-1 basis with clients, Vicky offers personalised training that focuses on both the dog and owner interacting together.
Vicky lives with her husband and Irish Red Setter Tia. She provides a service to dog owners offering common sense training based on the ‘praise and reward’ technique which can be tailored to suit any specific requirements of the owner. Each course commences with a home visit assessment, following which a tailormade training programme is prepared.
Working on a 1-2-1 basis with clients, Vicky offers personalised training that focuses on both the dog and owner interacting together. She believes that building their relationship both at home and in public is critical to achieving balance and harmony. Training dogs to relax when encountering aspects of everyday life which includes ‘other’ dogs, people, traffic and many other distractions that can trigger a dogs’ interest is of paramount importance.
Vicky is passionate about high standards of care and welfare afforded to dogs and in educating dog owners to understand the needs of their dog in order to provide them with a healthy and happy lifestyle. She takes a genuine interest in the problems that many owners experience with their dogs and often develops bespoke training techniques when helping them to overcome or manage any of the ‘more obscure’ problems.
Vicky holds a weekly training class at a local village hall for dogs of all ages, that covers basic obedience and control techniques. She also does one to one lessons to deal with general obedience or specific problems such as walking without pulling, recall, excessive barking issues etc. This training can be carried out in a variety of locations to suit the individual or situation being dealt with such as at the clients’ home or out on a walk.
